You take pity on your dilapidated garage, don’t you? It looks a mess, neglected and calling out for your care. Despite your huge want to respond, you don’t know where to start. You only wish you know about basic garage design!
Wish no more! A great garage can be yours, it can be done, and it can be simple. Start with a PLAN to make your garage a bulwark of your home.
Firstly, know your garage – floor area, what needs repaired, ejected, beautified and remake. Get a good idea of the whole garage structure and its adjacent rooms so the whole garage facelift process does not compromise anything else in your house.
So you want your garage to look really first-class and functional? Choose the right materials! That’s the second important thing to achieving a great garage. For instance, make sure your garage floor materials are resistant to chemicals, long-lasting and easy to keep up and clean. Also, it should be anti-skid, and of course, appealing to the eye. Your garage floor may be simulated quartz, solid poured concrete of simulated granite flake, which may be aesthetically different, but has all the ideal qualities of good flooring for your garage.
Thirdly, choose the right paint color and designs for your garage, ones that are in harmony with the rest of your whole house, interesting and durable. For the designs, be creative but not messy. When putting up designs, make sure they represent important facets of you and your family, or your aspirations and achievements. This way, your entry and exit to your new great garage is a constant reminder of good things that happened and the greater things to come.
The fourth essential to your great garage: garage cabinetry. Choose which is best from wood, metal and plastic materials, each with their own advantages. Remember, you need the garage cabinetry for storage, so determine what needs to be stored, their make and design, their weight and frequency of use. Also, be wary of your garage area where you will put up the cabinetry to avoid limiting space. Knowing all these will help you decide which material to choose for your garage cabinetry.
Wood cabinets are often preferred as they cost less. They are also sturdy, weigh less and most are easy to put up and assemble. Metal cabinets are rather heavy, but are even more durable, perfect for your heavier tools, even when mounted on your garage walls. As for plastic cabinets, they are readily available at stores. Their best feature would be they do not pose problems with moisture in your garage. On the other hand, plastics warp, discolor and the plastic cabinet doors are difficult to lock.
Lastly, make your PLAN first. Remember, YOUR GREAT GARAGE can be achieved when your plan is based on your basic garage design.
